In the SADC region, 195 cases were cumulatively reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo (190) and South Africa (5), with no deaths reported. In Mozambique, as a result of actions to strengthen surveillance and laboratory readiness, 49 suspected cases were tested until yesterday, one of which was positive. According to the Ministry of Health, the main symptoms of the disease are: acute onset of fever 38⁰C, severe headache, lymphadenopathy (inflamed lymph nodes), back pain, myalgia (muscle pain) and intense asthenia (tiredness), with progression rash of 1 to 3 days, often starting on the face and then all over the body, including the soles of the feet and cutaneous palms.
