The U.S. Embassy is recruiting a Residential Security Alarm Technician (Residential Security Equipment Technician), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

Description
  • The U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Residential Security Alarm Technician (Residential Security Equipment Technician) in the Regional Security Office
Duties
  • For all USG-owned/leased residential properties in Maputo, the Residential Security and Equipment Technician (RSET) repairs, maintains and services all electronic security equipment (collectively, “security systems” or “security equipment”), including alarms, electric fences, locks, grills/bars, safe have doors and reinforcements
  • Inspects all alarm control pads, door contacts, passive infra reds, glass break sensors, panic buttons, locks, safe havens, grills/bars, and other FAM/FAH required security systems to determine functionality prior to an occupant moving in
  • Works with the FAC and GSO section and landlords regarding maintenance work (carpentry, welding, electrical) to be done in conjunction with electronic residential security equipment. Liaise with American employees for residential security issues
  • Installs security equipment, troubleshoots equipment problems and makes emergency repairs to security equipment systems
  • Serves periodically as the duty RSET to field after hour calls for assistance and determine the need for emergency technical services. RSET will serve as backup for the Residential Security Coordinator. Incumbent serves as an incidental operator of official vehicles and meets all requirements outlined in 14 FAM 433
